Directions

The American Voices essay will be completed at the end of each marking period. The essay will be submitted electronically on our message board. I am excited about the idea of giving everyone the opportunity to read the essays. This is a great way to get your ideas out to someone other than me. It is also a great way to see the ideas of your classmates, as well as their abilities in the written discourse.

Essay Format: Expository

Essay Length: 475-600 words


Requirements: The American Voices essay will utilize a concept, theme, character or entire work that has been studied in class, but in a way that extends it out to our current American society. Consider our society as your primary text and the main focus of your analysis. Include your title as the subject line (creative only) and the word count at the end of the essay.

Suggestions: Complete this assignment in a regular word file and save it as usual. After you are satisfied with the product, complete the final word count (use tools) and place the final number at the bottom of the essay. Copy and paste it into the message board.
