Is child pornography defined by intent or interpretation? Who should be able to determine when it has crossed the line? Who has power over the image/work/etc: the artist, the subject, or the consumer?

The vagueness and subjectivity of child pornography laws have created a sense of taboo around the use of children as artistic subjects, unfairly eroticizing youth by causing the public to look for sexual exploitation where it may not be intended (i.e. tastefully crafted images of children in natural states) and directing focus away from more serious cases of sexual abuse.
