Books like the Clique Series the Twilight Saga instill the wrong morals in impressionable readers. A lot of the time these books are not thought provoking and do not teach young women how to stand up for themselves and promote sexist ideals.

Tentative thesis: Although there has been progress made within the genre, too many Young Adult novels promote gender stereotypes which do not provide positive role models for young adults who are developing their own identities.
