I have decided to swerve away from solely from cliches because of how difficult it was trying to find the psychological aspect behind it. Instead I have decided to write about the dumbing down of movies and cliches are one of the ways that films become unsophisticated.
Tentative Thesis: In today's society the American audience requires movies to be dumbed down through the usage of repetition and cliches because of their lack to think and under sophisticated nature.

Again I have added on and decided to keep that movies are dumbed down for a dumb audience but it is because of the terrible education that the audience is getting which makes the audience dumber which makes the film dumber. Since the film companies want to make money they will stay at the level of the audience.

Finalized Thesis- As a means to attract the general masses, who seek escape from reality, film companies produce feel-good movies to please their audience and to generate revenue; however, this can come at the cost of producing high quality films.
